I Blue It

It’s Fall Y’all! Okay maybe only in the world of home decor, social media, and retail. In actuality it’s still a few weeks out; but who can resist pumpkins! I think fall is now considered pumpkin season thanks to Starbucks and their release each late summer with PSL, we don’t even need to spell it out, we all know what it stands for (if you don’t please message me, I’ll fill you in).

Let’s get back to the cuties we call pumpkins. America loves pumpkins, America is obsessed with all things pumpkin! Pumpkin the gourd, pumpkin the flavor, pumpkin foods and drink, pumpkin scents, pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving and painting, canning, and of course crafting and decorating with pumpkins.

Decorating with pumpkins is a little irresistible, am I right? They can be real or faux, they come in so many sizes, shapes and colors. They are reasonably priced and you can add a pumpkin just about anywhere and voila you’ve decorated for fall. Pumpkin’s aren’t just for your porch, have you ever put a pumpkin in the bathroom? Do it, it’s something cute to look at when you’re in there.

I like warmth of the colors of fall, the auburns, oranges, reds, and browns; but this year I decided to change it up and match my pumpkin decor to the room it’s in.

So here’s how I BLUE it! My living room has a gorgeous rug that I love the colors of, so I pulled my decor palette from the rug colors. Blues, creams, copper, and gold tones, and the room is mostly cream, white, and blue. I went on a hunt for blue and copper pumpkins and got lucky! I added a few gold pieces and some gorgeous pampas grass with all the tones I used and it tied it all together beautifully.

This is the rug that brought the color inspiration.

I am so happy with how it turned out and although the colors of fall are beautiful, it’s okay to feel a little blue; or copper, or green, or pink (you get the idea).

I have to give a nod to Betsy, my new highland cow print. Isn’t she the cutest? I found her at a steal of a price and she tied the color scheme together perfectly and she has a fall feel to me.

I wish you a fabulous Fall, full of the sights, tastes, sounds, feels, and smells of it.
